What is VariLite Laser?
The VariLite Laser is used to treat blood vessels, angiomas (benign blood vessel tumors), diffuse redness, brown spots, poikiloderma(reddish-brown discoloration on neck and chest due to sun damage), acne, and aging (facial rejuvenation). This laser is especially effective in treating blood vessels due to sun damage or acne rosacea.Â
How it Works
The dual-wavelength technology (532nm/940nm) of the VariLite laser can treat a variety of vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, cutaneous lesions, and inflammatory acne. The laser light is absorbed by oxyhemoglobin or the red component of the blood within the vessels. Then the laser targets the unwanted vessels, leaving the top layer of skin intact.

Recovery
There is minimal discomfort with the procedure, and no local anesthetic is required. Often, multiple treatments are necessary, depending on the type of lesion being treated. The post-treatment area may appear mildly pink for several hours. Makeup can be worn immediately if desired. Return to work and daily activities are immediate.
