What is Ellacor?
Laser and Skin participated in several clinical trials that led to FDA approval in July 2022. Ellacore is a treatment option for aging skin that differs from lasers or conventional surgery. It is a minimally invasive treatment using micro-coring technology to diminish wrinkles and age-related skin laxity in the mid to lower face.
How it Works
Ellacor uses hollow needles that remove micro-sized areas of excess skin with our surgery, thermal energy, or scarring, resulting in an improved appearance of moderate and severe wrinkles in the mid and lower face without the evidence of scarring.
Recovery
In the clinical trial, 70% of patients were comfortable going out in public or returning to work three days after treatment.1 Therefore, some patients may feel comfortable going out in public sooner than three days, while others may prefer a longer recovery time. Furthermore, since every patient heals at different rates, there may still be mild to moderate side effects present after this time.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many treatments will I need?
During the clinical trial, patients had a series of 3 treatments approximately one month apart. However, every patient is unique and your provider will determine a treatment plan that is right for you.
Is the procedure painful?
Your provider will provide you with appropriate anesthesia before the procedure. During the clinical trial, most patients remorted pain during the procedure as less than 2 on a scale of 0-10.
How is Ellacor different from Microneedling?
Microneedling uses small needles to injure the tissue, but the skin is not removed during this procedure – the tissue is temporarily displaced. Ellacor is the first device to remove skin on the microscale.
Can I receive Ellacor if I have a darker skin tone?
Because darker skin types (V and VI) may react differently to aesthetic treatments than lighter skin types (I-IV), a separate clinical study is needed to evaluate the proper protocols for using ellacor on darker skin types.
