What is Hair Removal?
Hair removal lasers beam highly concentrated light specifically into hair follicles, where it is absorbed by the pigment in the follicle, destroying the hair. New technologies have made the procedure safer for patients with darker skin. Skin and hair color, thickness, and hair location determine the amount of energy needed for treatments. While the hair removal is technically permanent, every hair grows in a different cycle, so you must do multiple treatments. You can’t kill them all at once.
Treatment
At Laser & Skin, our highly trained, experienced, registered Laser Nurses have multiple devices to choose from; but their favorites are the Clarity II and the Gentlemax. They can treat most body areas, large and small, and all skin tones. Most patients require a series of treatments over time. Some see long-term results that may last for years. Others may require multiple treatments to maintain their degree of hair loss. It is impossible to determine how many treatments will be required or how long they will last.
